Literature Study/Circle Implementation Expectations:
To differentiate literacy instruction for above grade level readers during the literacy block. Teacher lead discusions and check for understanding/reading pace will occur a minimum of 2 times per week for each literature study/circle group.
Specific directions have been developed for communicating with building principals about starting a literature study/circle group. Teachers will complete a literature study district planning form and have your building principal approve it.
Specific criteria have been developed for scheduling students into/out of both guided reading and literature study.
Sample schedule
Specific criteria have been developed for selecting students who may participate in literature study. Students reading level L/24 or higher and who are reading above grade level may participate in a literature study/circle.
