Professional Development
Professional development opportunities are being offered for Tiger U credit by the Literacy Coaches district-wide. Classes will be held at various times throughout the year so please check back often for the latest information regarding sessions on The Daily 5, Journeys, Guided Reading, and Units of Study in Writing.
Teachers can earn one Tiger U credit for every 15 hours of class they attend. Literacy coaches will track cumulative hours of class time for teachers. When 15 hours is earned you may pay for one Tiger U credit. If participants are not able to attend the full session they won't receive credit toward a Tiger U. They are welcome to come late, but no credit toward Tiger U will be given.
Eight participants must attend each class session in order for a class to be held. Teachers need to e-mail the literacy coach teaching the class by the required deadline. If the minimum number of participants is not reached by the required deadline, the class will be canceled and teachers will be notified.
